Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 4th – goal over his past 5 – English Premier League matches in order to help his football club, Manchester United, defeat Burnley with a final tally of 3 to 1 on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 for their largest victory under their recently hired head coach, Ralf Rangnick.
The golden boy, Ronaldo, recorded the 3rd – goal score of Manchester United’s 1st – half goals, as he was able to tap his shot into an empty net during the 35th – minute following Scott McTominay’s long – range shot that was tipped in to the post by Burnley’s goal – tender, Wayne Hennessey.
With 14 – goals compiled throughout all competitions this season, the electric and exciting Portuguese forward has created a very strong beginning to his 2nd – spell at Manchester United, and he was marked up front by Burnley’s Edinson Cavani a thoroughbred pair of players with a combined age of 70!
Manchester United put forth way too much for the visiting side of Burnley, who was playing their first match since December 12th, 2021, following several of their recent contests being postponed due to a COVID – 19 outbreak. Their opponents in Watford, Aston Villa, and Everton never got the chance to face off against Burnley because of the coronavirus.
McTominay scored with a sweet bending shot from the edge of the area, and an own – goal off of Ben Mee’soutstretched foot while he was attempting to block a shot from Jadon Sancho elevated Manchester United to victory as Rangnick’s club bounced back after a disappointing performance in their 1 to 1 draw at Newcastle last Monday, December 27th, 2021.
Most likely due to Rangnick’s distaste from Manchester United’s draw versus Newcastle, the strong – minded manager executed a total of 6 – changes during Thursday’s contest against Burnley that included 3 on the defensive side. 1 of them was Eric Bailly, who limped off of the pitch injured approximately halfway through the 2nd – half in a possible detriment to Ivory Coast’s national team just prior to the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
Aaron Lennon concluded an exciting as well as fully – entertaining 1st – half when he found the back of the net with a strong shot to the far corner during the 38th – minute of play which decreased the deficit in this one with Lennon’s first goal score since back in September of 2018.
Manchester United played well enough to record their 3rd – win over 4 – English Premier League matches under Man U’s head coach, Rangnick, as they climbed over Tottenham Hotspur into the 6th – place spot in the English Premier League table at the moment.

“We are learning and adapting,” the Scotland center – midfielder, Scott McTominay, described. “The game against Newcastle was difficult and we had to bounce back from that. The manager said we set the record for the most amount of turnovers in the league. We had to keep the ball better.”
“We haven’t played for three weeks and there was a bit of rustiness there,” the winger for Burnley, Aaron Lennon, stated. “We will dust ourselves down and go again.”
